Marital Status Act of Mauritius clearly mentioned that the marriage of non-residents of the island can be occurred on the day directly following the day of publication of marriage bans. A certificate of intending spouses should be issued under the authority of Prime Minister at the time of publication. The certificate comprising of the written words as they are not the citizens of Mauritius.
The documents need to be forwarded are :
· 2 photocopies of each birth certificate
· 2 photocopies of each pass port
· Other documents are to be needed in case of widow and widower
The application for a certificate of non-citizens/non-resident must accomplish
the Civil Status Office 10 days before the day of the planned marriage.
