Diving
People called Thailand “the divers' heaven”. You’ll not find such a diverse of aquatic life anywhere else in the world. Diving in Thailand is possible at all times of the year, although visibility changes according to the season. In the Andaman Sea, the best time is from October to April, and in the Gulf of Thailand from May to September. At some recommended sites the water is crystal clear that you may even catch the glimpses of rare species of spotted rays, giant trigger fish, and harmless whale sharks.
All over Thailand, you can expect modern amenities, international standard boats and professional facilities. There is also a high standard of training. All reputable dive centers are affiliated with Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or other international organizations, and most hold courses in multiple languages.
Anywhere where the beach is suitable for swimming, you will probably find masks, snorkels and flippers to rent or borrow. Many coral reefs in Thailand, tropical fish and other marine life live in shallow water near the shore, and are accessible to divers. Friendly snorkeling trips and basic lessons are available around the beach destinations in Thailand. Snorkeling is a great activity when there are younger children in the group as there is practically no risk of accident. Tour operators provide life vests for everyone. So, even non-swimmers could enjoy snorkeling.
