Surrounded by the sea the southern province is sharing its border with Malaysia. There are several modes of transportation is available to visit this amazing part of Thailand.Visitors can come directly to the South by air, train or yacht from outside the country without having to stop at Bangkok as there are numerous ports awarded this facility. Traveling within the province can also be done with various modes of transport such as public bus, train or rental car.
By air
The South has several domestic airports throughout the region namely at Krabi, Ko Samui, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Surat Thani and Trang, with two international airports which are in Phuket and Hat Yai. Several airlines including Thai Airways International, Nok Air, Air Asia, One Two Go, and Bangkok Airways operate daily flights from both Suvarnabhumi and Donmuang Airports, while flights between provinces within the region are also available.
By Rail
Trains to the South start at Hualamphong station in Bangkok and run daily to the Southern destinations, ending at Narathiwat, the southernmost province of Thailand. The more casual way is to catch a train to Chumphon, Trang or Nakhon Si Thammarat, then take a bus to other destinations from there. Both fanned and air-conditioned seats are available and overnight rides can be comfortable as seats can be folded in to bunk beds. Food and drinks are available in the cafeteria section.
