Ko Samui is also known as the Coconut Island. It is one of the most famous and popular destinations of Thailand.
Location
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, it is approximately 84 km east of Surat Thani, or approximately 700 km south of Bangkok
Direction
By car: From Bangkok, take Highway 4 (Buddha Monthon Road) through Phetchaburi and Chumphon and then drive on to Highways 41 and 401 to Surat Thani, and take their cars to Ko Samui through a vehicle ferry at Donsak Pier
By bus: Take an air-conditioned or non air-conditioned bus, which leaves Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal for Surat Thani several times daily
By train: Take a daily train leaving Bangkok’s Hualamphong Station for Surat Thani
By air: Take a direct daily flight from Bangkok to Ko Samui, with about 1.10-hour traveling time
