Its strategic location in the heart of Southeast Asia, the Kingdom of Thailand is a natural gateway to neighboring countries. Thailand’s neighbors are Myanmar to the west and north, Laos to the north and northeast, Cambodia to the southeast, and Malaysia to the south.
In an area of 513,115 km square, the land of four different geographical areas, each with its own character: the mountainous north is lush wooded hills, the great northeastern plateau it in full anthropological and archaeological sites, the central plain is the nation’s rice bowl, watered by the Chao Phraya River and the scenic coastline to the east, the south is a narrow peninsula with a long coastline of white sandy beaches and offshore islands.
